You can also do your own research on any of the listed companies in the world to see if their share price has gone up over the last 10 years. Most likely, there has been a positive rate of return far greater than what the banks would have paid you for investing the same amount in a fixed deposit account. Over time, these Companies would have reported good results and their share price would move upwards as well. You can also search for well managed companies that pay good dividends. These companies give rates of return that are attractive and are generally more stable. Use Google to search, ‘What are good companies to buy shares in, that give consistent dividends?’, in your Country.
